Weld fume is a mixture of gases and very small particles that get deep into your lungs and welders are in a high risk category for developing lung conditions such as bronchitis and emphysema, pneumoconiosis and weld fume fever (from welding zinc). All weld fume is dangerous and there are further risks if metal is coated with hazardous substances such as lead.
