This 4-day course is aimed at those key personnel in an organisation who have responsibility to manage health and safety risks and resources.
The aims of the IOSH training course are to:
Teach key individuals how to manage safely and effectively in compliance with their in-house policy and best practice in health and safety
To ensure line managers appreciate safety requirements, can review their own departmental systems for safety, introduce new controls and implement changes, as appropriate
On successful completion of the IOSH training course delegates will be able to:
Explain a recognised safety management system such as HSG65 or BS8800 and understand the intrinsic value of risk assessment
Compare safety management systems with other management systems and describe system integration, if appropriate
Produce an adequate incident record and accident investigation procedure
Describe statutory requirements for reporting and procedures for checking for non-reporting
Describe methods of basic trend and epidemiological analysis for reactive monitoring techniques
Define hazards and risks and describe the legal requirements for risk assessment
Identify workplace precaution hierarchies and the criteria for types of workplace precautions and controls
Prepare and use active monitoring checklists and implement schedules for active monitoring, recording and analysis records
Explain the purposes and techniques of a health and safety audit
Outline the main provisions of relevant health and safety legislation
Describe procedures and techniques used in health and safety management reviews
Outline relevant health and safety legislation, codes or practice, guidance notes and information sources
Distinguish specific hazards both generally and from an organisation’s perspective

The 4-day IOSH training seminar is split into two 2-day sessions to allow delegates to take on board the information delivered. In this way, staff are not taken away from the workplace for 4 days at a time.
Course Fee:
£400 (The course fee includes lunch, work book and examination fee).
